Ping Pong exercise and awareness program for anyone combating a movement disorder or neurodegenerative disease such as Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s Disease
Care Pong
We are Movers and Shakers!
What path are you walking? I remember as a child walking the path in our woods to go fishing in a pond. As careful as I was, I seemed to always get hit by mosquitoes, poison ivy or some other assault on my body. Along the path of life, we often are hit by a medical bug. For me, it was Parkinson’s Disease. Maybe for you it was that or some other neurodegenerative disease such as Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer’s, stroke, or any other brain disease or injury. Care Pong can be the “debugger” for you!
Whether or not you depend on a wheelchair, walker, cane or just a little bit wobbly (or maybe take care of someone like this!), come out and enjoy some fun and good health!

About Us
Like many of you, I’m a mover and a shaker. Well, my right side moves okay but the left has some shakes. I’m glad I found a movement neurologist to take care of the medical side, but
what about the fun side?
A few of us got together to figure a way to help others find what we have; regardless of the stage of disease or disorder and regardless of the ability to shell out money! What did we find? Ping-Pong
Find out more about who we are, our mission, and our methods.
What can Ping Pong do for you?
Ping Pong is a fun and beneficial exercise alternative!
"There appears to be benefits with ping pong in particular due to the required hand eye coordination, the balance control, posterior control, the motor planning that goes into being able to use the paddle to hit the ball," said Dr. Leone. "As well as the visual spatial skills that are needed to participate with that activity as well.”
Dr. Michael Leone, Neurologist, Allegheny Health Systems

Movers and Shakers
“Living well is a decision each of us must make. We can have behavior models, books full of knowledge, caretakers full of advice, and medical support awash with wisdom; yet the choice to live well is ours alone.
Ping Pong helps me live well. The benefits to brain and body are wonderful and much appreciated. But what really floats my boat is seeing the smiles on the faces of those enjoying Ping Pong. My background as a paramedic and a teacher contribute to my personality and bent towards helping others. I’m still the same person. I still have the capacity to contribute to society and am responsible for doing such. You, too, are the same person but with PD. Find your niche in life. Find what gives you life! Go Live Well! Be a mover and shaker! PLAY PING PONG!!”
