Our Team

Bill Richard

Bill was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2021. He had previously experienced several strokes and sought a neurologist to oversee his care. He discovered then it was Parkinson’s symptoms, not stroke effects. Regular exercise helps him combat the physical symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, but exercise with his peers has provided more than just accountability. He developed a micro-community among his exercise group that supports each other through Commitment, Awareness, Respect, and Encouragement (CARE).

Bill has an extensive background in providing emergency care as an EMS (Emergency Medical Service) provider. After developing cancer when exposed at a catastrophic chemical fire, Bill spent his energy and time training others in emergency care. He has had extensive experience teaching underway on merchant marine vessels and he specialized in emergency care in isolated environments such as in Africa.

Before retiring to Arizona, Bill taught EMS at a major medical center in Philadelphia, PA. In fact, he still teaches there occasionally through Zoom.

Bill has a true passion for all those who have encountered neurodegenerative conditions, whether personally or as a caregiver. This includes the underserved communities, may it be geographical, financial or racial. But his passion is not only because they are underserved. It is because we have not heard their voices and concerns. His dream of Care Pong is designed to address that need and the need of all those affected.
